1995 was commissioned by Uniting Voices Chicago, as part of Good Trouble. The piece chronicles the lives of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, and the impact their lives had on the queer liberation movement. The choir takes on the voice of Sylvia, expressing her frustration and anguish, but also the profound joy she felt to be part of the movement.

1995 was premiered at the Kehrein Center for the Arts in 2021 by Uniting Voices Chicago, conducted by Nicki Sekhar.
